Focusing on a global resurgence in art and youth activism, The Autonomy Project will combine commissioning the work of internationally recognised artists, Limerick based youth groups and academics to explore the theme of autonomy across a wide spectrum of voices or perspectives. At its centre, however, this project proposes to ask: “what do you want to change and how?”
2nd to the 7th of April in the Sailors home, six artists across six genres will create a weeklong performance installation in the heart of Limerick City. The concept of autonomy within structure will be embedded into the creation and production of the work as the individual pieces form a singular installation experience.
Dance Artist Lisa McLoughlin (Anima), Visual Artist Seamus Nolan (F**k IMMA), Performance Artist Fergus Byrne (Future Histories), Performing Artist Deirdre Murphy (Capitalism the Musical), Vocalist Siobhan Kavanagh (Doom Opera) & Sound Artist Adam Gibney (Euclid, I miss you)
