This piece explores how plastic embodies the “use-once-then-throw-away” mentality that pervades our single-use society.
How does a fast-paced, disposable way of living affect our relationship with the environment and with other living beings? How have we become more “plastic” by using plastic and disregarding the consequences of our actions? The introduction of just one material into the daily use of billions of people has revolutionised our planet and our human interactions in such a short period of time (since the 1950s). My question: what is the true price of convenience?
